Elon Musk pitches for India after meeting PM Modi in New York
Prime Minister Modi is currently visiting the US. In their first meeting since the prime minister purchased Twitter for $44 billion last year, Tesla CEO pronounced himself a "fan" of Modi.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, stated on Wednesday that he was "incredibly excited" about India's future and that it had more to offer the world than any other major nation. Musk's compliments came during what he called a "excellent" conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York City this morning. He emphasised that the PM "really cares about India" and that he had spoken strongly about Tesla, Inc. investing in the nation.
While meeting Musk for the first time since he acquired Twitter in a $44 billion deal that made headlines last year, Modi tweeted, "Great meeting you today Elon Musk! We discussed a wide range of topics, from energy to spirituality.
It was an honour to meet again, Musk retorted.
"I am tremendously optimistic about India's future. The PM truly cares about India because he is chasing us to make a substantial investment, which is something we need to do, and it has more potential than any other huge country in the world. In a nutshell, the meeting with the prime minister was amazing.
After the meeting, Musk told reporters, "I am a fan of PM Modi."
