By 2042, Samsung plans to invest $230 billion in the South Korean chip industry.

 According to Samsung Electronics, it would spend about 300 trillion won ($230 billion) by 2042 to build the largest chip manufacturing base in the world in South Korea. The initiative is a component of a private sector investment plan worth 550 trillion won that the government revealed on Wednesday. According to reports, South Korea wants to increase supply-chain stability in order to dominate the non-memory chip market.
